God Is Still Speaking - Are You Listening?

Greetings, Balanced Life Family,

Have you ever read in the Bible how God spoke to His people and His prophets and thought, Wow, that’s amazing? The beautiful truth is this: God is still speaking today, and He desires to speak to you. (Hebrews 1:1–2)

One of the primary ways God speaks is through His Word. He speaks through preaching, teaching, and through your own personal reading of Scripture. Reading the Bible is not like reading any other book, you don’t just pick it up and start. Quiet your spirit, thank God for His Word, and ask Him to speak to you through it. Then ask for understanding so you can clearly grasp what He is saying to you.

God also speaks through your prayer life. Prayer is a two-way conversation, not a monologue. As you pray, God may give you impressions, reminders, direction, or conviction. He has the answer to every question you could ever ask. To hear Him clearly, stillness matters. Slow down, find a quiet place, and be alone with God. Then talk, and listen.

As mentioned earlier, God speaks through people. He uses pastors, teachers, mentors, and spiritually mature friends to give wise counsel. But remember: a word from someone should confirm what God is already saying to you, not replace it. If something brings pressure, confusion, or chaos, it is not from God. Peace is one of the clearest indicators of His voice.              (1 Corinthians 14:33)

God will never speak anything that contradicts His Word. Hearing from God grows over time, it’s not a one-time event; it’s a journey. The more time you spend with Him, the more familiar His voice becomes.

Yes, even in a noisy world, you can hear God.
