Dear Balanced Life Family,
Prayer is speaking and communicating with God. It’s a vital tool for every Christian as well as a weapon against Satan and his attacks. Thank God, He provides us with the privilege of petitioning His throne of grace.
When we pray, before we bombard the throne with requests for what we want, we should take a moment to reflect on how good God has been to us. Think of the blessings that we enjoy every day. Think about how much worse our problems would be if it were not for God’s goodness, and thank Him for those things first.
Then, we can make our requests known unto Him. There are so many things for which we need God’s help. We have storms of life that we must endure, battles that have to be fought, sicknesses that need to be healed, relationships that need to be repaired, and so much more. Our problems are never too big for God. God is “able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think” Ephesians 3:20
You may have heard that “Prayer is the key and faith unlocks the door.” Well, prayer is a key, and you must have faith when you pray. “Therefore I say unto you, what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. Mark 11:24 Faith is active trust. When we pray, we must believe that God is working.
The good news is that God is always present and available to hear our prayers. He hears the prayers of everybody who’s praying all over the world at the same time, and can answer each one individually all at the same time. Don’t even try to wrap your finite mind around that amazing miracle, just believe it.
When we pray, conditions change, doors open, lives are transformed, problems are solved, and Satan is defeated. Prayer, what a privilege!
